Zin-carla...Jakob and Lilly
Submitted Tuesday, November 19, 2002 - 4:24:04 PM by Syrisi Maldicta

Syrisi Maldicta

“Lilly Thann, who are you?” Lady Lust asked the paladin and former leader of the Keepers of Virtue. The Bregan D’Aerth priestess knew Lilly would answer correctly.

“I am Bregan D’Aerth,” Lilly answered.

The Jabbuk was pleased as he listened and watched Lilly following Lust’s every command, including the command to kill one of her former guildmates.

How long ago had he met in the Underdark with the Ancient One? It seemed like months, but it was only weeks. He and his warriors and mages had followed her every command, and now they had their prizes. Not only had Lust “turned” Lilly Thann during a drow Zin’carla ceremony, but BDA also had Commander Jakob Covenant of the Highland Guard.

Dread Lord Caleb beamed with pride when he thought of what his family had accomplished since Jakob initiated the forces of virtue against BDA.

His thoughts were interrupted by the shrill voice of Poet, a member of Lilly’s former guild.

“Lilly, come back to us,” Poet pleaded. “You belong with us.”

“Lilly is lost to you, vile rivvil” Lust shouted back. “ She couldn’t return to you even if she wanted to, because I command and control your precious paladin. She lives only to carry out the will of Lloth now.”

The night before, executing the raid with perfection, the forces of BDA swept in to the Tales and Ales, killed Lilly and Jakob and captured their souls in retaliation for their efforts to call down the forces of virtue on Bregan D’Aerth.. Their spirits were brought to a special pentagram surrounded by candles near the Yew Crypts, where Lust, who will take over the leadership of BDA in a month’s time, performed a drow ritual called Zin-carla on the two former High Council generals.

This was no normal kidnapping. The Jabbuk smiled when he thought of the Highland Guard and Keepers of Virtue members who already were scrambling to find their leaders and sending him messages offering to exchange a hostage for their return. “Don’t they know who we are by now?” The anger welled up within him. “We will never negotiate. They will never get Lilly and Jakob back. BDA members would kill themselves before being allowed to be captured. And if a BDA member is captured alive, the forces of virtue can keep them!”

The Jabbuk doubted the Guard and Keepers would want Lilly and Jakob back.

Bregan D’Aerth gathered around the edge of the pentagram with the spirits of Jakob and Lilly in the middle as Lust performed the ritual of Zin-carla, one of Lloth’s greatest gifts. Using the combined power of the BDA members encircling her, Lust brought the spirits back from the dead to fulfill a mission as servants of Lloth. The spell Lust cast on the spirits brought them back to life with all the skills and abilities they had before dying. Neither, however, has a will of their own. Jakob and Lilly will be walking tools of destruction in the name of Lloth. A victim of Zin-carla will even hack down a once-beloved family member if it is Lloth’s will.

A victim of Zin-cala also has all the powers of a zombie. It can shrug off all attacks, except those of a magical nature. And even then, the victim of Zin-carla will only be permanently destroyed if its head is burned. Otherside, the Zin-carla zombie will rise again within 12 house and continue their mission for Lloth.

These so-called Spirit-wraiths are under the control of whoever brings them back to “life.” Lust has Lilly and Jakob under her control, as she demonstrated with deadly results at the Tales and Ales.

“That’s why Lilly can’t come back to you, foolish Poet!” Caleb thought. “That’s why Jakob can’t come back to you, foolish Highland Guard!”

“BDA, we’ve accomplished what we set out to do! Let’s leave!” Caleb shouted after Poet and members of the Highland Guard were critically wounded by his forces, including new “member” Lilly Thann.

“Xas Jabbuk,” Lilly Thann said, casting an evil glance at the corpse of Poet.

The Offering, Part 6 **Warning,Graphic Content**
Submitted Friday, November 15, 2002 - 2:18:50 PM by Syrisi Maldicta

Syrisi MaldictaFrom Bregan D'Aerth

Mistina arrived back at the Dark tower just before sunrise. Upon entering the tower she was met by Lust. "Did you forget something........or someone sister?" Lust asked, a smile playing across her face. Mistina's face lit up as she remembered her "friend" in the hidden chamber..."Xas sister, I certainly did. Is it time for my first lesson?" The room itself was enough to make even Mistina feel a bit uneasy. Lust lit the lanterns. "Mist, can you help me with this?" Lust asked. Mistina grabbed one end of the small marble-slabbed table and Lust grabbed the other. Atop the table were strange-looking instruments. Lust began stoking the forge and placed some of the long-handled instruments into the glowing coals. "Have you eaten yet this day Mistina?" Lust asked. "Nau, naut yet." "Good." Lust replied. "Your first time, you may feel a bit ill, but I know you, it will pass quickly." Lust smiled. "Shall we begin?" "The trick is inflicting large amounts of pain in short durations without causing mortal wounds right off," Lust explained. "We do not want them to die too quickly, but we want the time they have left to be agony." Mistina watched as Lust picked up a jeweled bucket and a beautifully crafted dagger. The hilt of the dagger was made of the same metal and jewels that the bucket was, with intricately etched symbols adorning the blade. "This one will serve a special purpose for our upcoming battle, so it is important that we keep her alive as long as possible," Lust said looking to the traitor. "We will need large quantities of her blood for our mission, so we drain her until the brink of death." As Lust said this she drew the blade across the whimpering captive's wrist. Lust hung the bucket on a hook under the edge of the table as the blood flowed into it, then turned toward the forge and removed a long thin piece of glowing metal. Lust continued her lesson as the captive's eyes grew wide and she fought against her restraints. "The use of metal heated in a forge makes for wonderful instruments, for not only do they cause large amounts of pain, scaring and burns, but the wounds seal themselves from the heat if the metal is inserted into the skin. This way the pain is there, but the threat of death is minimized." Lust walked to the end of the table at the captives feet and slowly pushed the fired metal into the arch of her foot. The scream that escaped her lips sent a chill through Mistina. She looked at Lust, who was smiling as the tip of the metal exited the top of the prisoner's foot. Then Lust slowly withdrew the instrument, the smell of burning flesh and the sounds of torture filling the air. It was apparent Lust was in her element. She walked back to the forge and took out a wide flat piece of metal. The slave was barely conscious ... the lack of blood and the pain of torture had taken their toll. Lust removed the bucket from where it hung and laid the smoldering metal against the wound on the captive's wrist. There was only a small groan and the smell of burning flesh. Lust left the room, taking the bucket. Mistina looked down at the creature, almost feeling sorry for her.........almost. A short time later Lust returned with her servant, who had long ago ceased to fight, and instructed the servant to feed broth to the captive and to watch her wounds. "We must allow her to regain some strength now. Her body must replace the blood we have taken. This will take a few days, then we shall drain her again and I will continue your
lessons."

Mistina climbed the stairs to the third floor of the tower. The small meeting room was always empty this time of day. As she sat with parchment and quill, she went over plans in her head for the upcoming attack. She rubbed her eyes as her vision started to blur. She was unsure how long it had been since she slept. She rolled the parchment with the sketches of the location of the battlefield and placed them in her pack. Though her body was tired, her mind was too busy for rest. She decided to go to Raph's forge instead of her empty home to discuss battle plans with the warrior. She valued his opinion; he always helped her to see the best course of action. The following weeks were filled with extensive training. The drow knew that their movement must be fluid and there was no room for error. Over and over they went through the terrain, preparing for any possible problem that may arise. When they were not training they were still fighting. BDA did after all, have many enemies, ranging from those proclaiming to be"pure" elves, the surface elves the drow despised more than any human, to the highest-virtue clans of the land It seemed any city the drow entered was left with their streets flowing with blood and littered with bodies.

Lady Lust and Mistina were preparing to visit their prisoner again to continue Mistina's lessons when the doors of the Tower burst open. Kal, Grav, Athena and a small group of warriors entered, dragging behind them two faithful soldiers of the Highland Guard. "Vendui' Lust.....Mistina," Kal spoke. "Lust, if you please, we need the tongues of these two guard members loosened. They have information our forces need." A playful sneer formed on Lust's lips as she held out her hand and was given the chains and keys for her two new projects. The Guard members were strong. Lust used techniques of torture on the two that are not normally used by many. The threat of death is too great. The slightest error, and no information would be gained. But no one knew her job like Lust. The Guards, their chains bound to the wall, at first would not so much as make a sound, not a cry of pain, not a grimace. This made Lust smile. After all, it was no fun if they told her everything right away. It was not until she began carving into their chests with the red hot blade of the dagger blessed by Lloth that they cried out. The sound of their screams were like music to her ears. They told where their leader could be found and when, they told of his private homes and their locations and when he could be found there. They gave her all the information Bregan D'aerth needed to complete their task, but Lust did not stop. She could not ... her hand was guided on first one Guard's chest and then the other ... when she was done both wore the mark of Lloth.

Council Positions Open
Submitted Tuesday, November 12, 2002 - 3:37:34 PM by Nick Seafort

Nick SeafortHear ye, Citizens of Britannia,

The High Council of Britannia hereby announces open seats upon the High Council, and are now seeking candidates for these seats. The Seat of Humility, representing the city of Magincia, and the Seat of Spirituality, representing Skara Brae, both sit open. These seats are open to any from Britannia who meet the requirements below listed:

• A candidate must be a citizen of Britannia (historically, preference has been given to citizens from the city to be represented, however, such is not a requirement, as in either case, the elected official will be expected to support the city they are so elected to represent).

• A candidate must have reached the age of majority, fourteen years of age.

• A candidate must have no outstanding warrants for their arrest.

• A candidate may not be a military leader, nor a leader or voting officer upon any city council — if such is true, this does not prevent a candidate from running, but upon election, they are expected and required to resign from such leadership position while in service upon the High Council.

To apply for a seat, please send a Writ of Candidacy to radian@alterythem.com; this writ should include information on your eligibility for office (such as the town you are a citizen of, and so forth), the city you are looking to represent, and the basic reasons you wish to hold such office.

All candidates will be expected to attend the coming High Council meeting on Monday, November 18, 2002, at 8:00 PM CST to withstand public scrutiny. As prescribed by the Royal Charter, a period of time will be granted to allow the Council and public to question candidates about their background and intent for the office they desire to hold.

Thank you,

Ra'Dian Fl'Gith
Chancellor of Virtue
High Council of Britannia

The Offering, Part 5
Submitted Friday, November 8, 2002 - 3:59:39 PM by Syrisi Maldicta

Syrisi MaldictaFrom Bregan D'Aerth...

Athena, Kat and Lust were busy gathering reagents growing in the garden. The three were as close as any sisters could be, laughing and speaking of fond memories of times past when the raven landed on the fence. Kat saw the bird first and knew who sent it. A smile played upon her lips as she retrieved the message sent from Caleb. The smile quickly faded while she read the message. She sent the bird back to the Jabbuk and announced to Lust and Athena, "Come sisters, we have work to do. A battle is coming and we must prepare." The three set off to the Dark Tower to prepare for what was to come.

Mistina, standing in the Bank of Skara Brae, was going through her items, cursing as she threw one severly damaged weapon and piece of armor after another to the floor. " Damn these stupid humans," she spat as she went through chest after chest looking for suitable weapons and armor, watching as the enemy drew closer to her. "Finally," she thought to herself, opening the chest with the beautiful red barbed armor that was tailored with such care for her and the bright shining blades coated with the venomous concoction she was often known to use. She quickly disrobed right there and donned the fresh armor and armed herself A soft smile formed as she turned to face the enemy and looked at the commander. "Naive guard.....did you pray to your god today?"

"Vendui' sister," a familiar voice spoke from behind her, "Were you thinking of keeping all these Guards for yourself and not sharing with the rest of us?" Mistina glanced over her shoulder and smiled, seeing Kal, Max, Parn, Shane, Panther and Chani standing behind her. It did not take long for the group of drow to make wormsmeat of the Guard members there. Shortly after the last Guard dropped to the ground, a crow landed on Mistina's arm. She removed the message attached to the bird and fed it some bread from her pouch as she read the message. "Come jal, we are needed at the Dark Tower." With that the left the bank, giving no heed to the stares and whispers of the patrons still there.

The drow of Bregan D'Aerth slowly began to fill the Dark Tower when the doors burst open. Skar entered first, dragging his new slave behind him. A roar of laughter filled the tower, which only got louder as Raph entered the tower dragging their former sister, now tratorious wench, behind them. Mistina almost fell to the floor in laughter at the site of the bleeding female. Then her eyes caught site of Raph's wrist, blood seaping through the bandage. She was immediately filled with rage.

"Dos elg'caress!!" Mistina hissed through clenched teeth as she grabbed the female's gorget and threw her to the ground. Mistina drew her blade to swiftly seperate the vile traitor's head from her body when Lust grabbed her arm. "Nau sister." Lust said with dangerous smile, "I have a much better idea for this one." Bel'la dos ussta ssinssrigg," Mistina said to Raph, smiling and taking the rope from his hand. She turned and followed Lust down the stone corridor, dragging the cursing female behind her.

"You are new to the Ul'Saruk post of BDA and have not been to this section of the Dark Tower," Lust said as she led Mistina to the end of one of the hallways. She reached up and pressed a brick on the wall. Part of the wall gave way and revealed a hidden doorway. Lust motioned Mistina to enter.

As Mistina dragged the struggling captive through the doorway, the vile creature grabbed the outer edges of the door, pulling hard against the rope Mistina held. Lust shook her head and and from behind swung at the traitor, her fist knocking the slave to the floor. Lust then grabbed her by her hair and dragged her to a large wooden table in the middle of the room. Mistina lifted her feet while Lust continued to pull her by her hair. They tossed the weakly struggling traitor on the table, shackling her wrists and feet. "Sisters," they heard from the doorway. It was Kat. "The Jabbuk is calling all to the roof." Lust removed the slave's gorget and fastened the final shackle around her neck and whispered softly in her ear, "Prepare yourself while we are gone, for when I return I will use you to teach Mistina all of our secrets of pain. You will beg for death long before it comes." Then the two left the room, closing the entryway behind them, leaving the slave alone in the darkness.

The Jabbuk stood at the altar silently as his forces gathered on the roof. "Vendui' abbilen, bel'la dos. I know that this is short notice, but we have an important mission to discuss." The Jabbuk explained what the Ancient One had told him. The group paid attention to every detail, for they knew the plan had to be followed exactly. There could be no mistakes. The slightest delay, the briefest hesitation, and it would not work. Immediately after the Jabbuk finished, his people went to where the battle would take place, where they planned and scouted long into the night.

Thanksgiving.. whats up with that?
Submitted Thursday, November 7, 2002 - 10:30:12 AM by Nick Seafort

Nick SeafortHave you noticed the Herald's pilgrim buddies for this month? Yep, thats right, they're going to ride out the month with us as the Heralds ambassadors to Thanksgiving!

Okay, so maybe I was bored and decided to slap some holiday crap up on the logo.. but either way, you're the winner! Yep, thats right, You get to look at them all month long!

Not only that, but you get to see me prattle on about the origins of Thanksgiving! Why? because as a student of Crazy Go Nuts University I am both crazy and nuts! Well, that and those of you outside the US probably dont know what the heck Thanksgiving is anyways! So, settle down chillins, uncle Nick's gonna fill you in on the ancient past!

Way back in 1620, there was a big push to colonize the Americas, especially from the English, the Spanish, and the French. The English were having a rough go of things, as several of their colonies simply died out. This time, they got lucky.. The Indisn Squanto showed up and taught them the tricks to North American cultivation. Squantos native knowledge was so effective that in the fall, they had a surplus of food.. so what better to do than throw a feast?

So they did.. the pilgrims invited Squanto to bring his family to the feast, but what they didn't know was that Squanto had over 90 relatives, all of whom decided to come party down with the pilgrims. While the Pilgrims has a surplus, they didnt have THAT much of a surplus, so the Indians chipped in as well, making it a multi-racial cooperative gathering.

That's the generally accepted story of the First Thanksgiving.. but in actuality, it isn't. The Pilgims got the idea for their feast from Thanksgiving ceremonies which were held as part of religious observance in England. The Indians also had Thanksgiving feasts as a religious ritual.. in fact, they had 6 of them that year before the Pilgrims invited them to "the big one."

So, now you know. You might wonder why my ambassadors to Thanksgiving are holding ice Cream cones.. It's because both Pilgrims and Indians like Ice Cream, DUH!

Now that I have fulfilled my educational requirement for this month, we now return you to your regularly scheduled posting!

The Time Has Come...
Submitted Wednesday, November 6, 2002 - 3:27:31 PM by Syrisi Maldicta

Syrisi MaldictaFrom the Desk of Dark Lord Caleb, Jabbuk of Bregan D'Aerth,

The Jabbuk was alone.

But his thoughts were filled with pride as he thought about the rowdy drow of Bregan D'Aerth. And no more so than now, he chuckled. "All they have to do is leave the Dark Tower, and they attract trouble like magnets," he thought. " I love it!"
He thought about Raph and Mistina and the deep love they have for each other. When they weren't nuzzling each other, no one ws better at spreading the BDA brand of chaos throughout the land. If there is another pair who could get into more trouble than those two, the Jabbuk had yet to meet them. Few could match their effectiveness as a team. He looked forward to peforming the special drow blood bonding ceremony for these two and thought back fondly to his own past and smiled.
He thought about Skar, Malavika, Jupiter and Xai and their continual hunt for TURs.
He thought about the deadly Dublin and her steadying influence on the younger members.
He smiled thinking of Flint and Chani playing cat and mouse in the tunnels of Shame.
There were his daughters....Moiraine and Tash. Moiraine....quiet but deadly. He knew where that came from. Tash...the males in Bregan D'Aerth better watch out for that one!
He shook his head, thinking of Devidian, Houndaur, Flint, Shane, Lydia and Warlord. Always looking for trouble in the cities of Britannia. To them, it didn't matter that BDA has been banned from every city in the realm. They were still going to head into town looking for trouble. If not in Skara Brae, then in Trinsic. How could the Jabbuk not help but feel pride at this defiance?
He thought fondly about Maximus and Markita...another inseparable pair. They complemented each other well both on and off the field of battle.
Chani, Kal, Panther and Parn....reformed goodies who are enjoying the evil side of life. "All roads lead to BDA," a special High Priestess once told the Jabbuk and repeated often. He smiled.
His heart filled with love when he thought of Kat and all she has meant to him for more than two years.
He thought about Sylvaria, sent to the surface world by Silvaria as the Jabbuk's assassin. None better, he thought. His right hand of death. "I brought down at least two and can't remember how many I poisoned," she messaged him recently. The Jabbuk burst out laughing, thinking about how her heart must have been pumping as she helped BDA bring the virtue types to their knees.
The Jabbuk suddenly felt a familiar tingly sensation. He knew that feeling, but could it be true? There had been rumors of her return, but he never believed them.
He shook off that feeling and once again turned his thoughts to the drow of Bregan D'Aerth. It had been amost three years since he took over leadership of BDA when the High Priestess stepped down. A tumultuous and fun three years.
Several times others have predicted the collapse of BDA. What these people don't know is that BDA will never die. BDA continues to thrive, continues to grow, continues to be a thorn in the side of the High Council and other virtue types....despite the lies and half-truths. He knew why, too. It isn't because of any one person that BDA will always show more honor than the virtue types combined. It isn't because of any one person that BDA will continue to forge a future of conquest and triumph. It's because of the members, he thought, his heart bursting with pride. The members are what makes BDA what it is. We're a family. We care about each other. We unite when faced with adversity. The Jabbuk knew these weren't empty words....like those words so often tossed at BDA by the virtue types.

The Jabbuk was proud of his people. Nothing had brought more pleasure to his life than leading this family of wild and different personalities.

Yet.....the time has come, he thought.

He had finally found someone he could completely trust...someone who is totally committed and loyal to Bregan D'Aerth....someone who would do anything she could to make sure BDA continued to thrive and prosper....someone who could put the virtue types in their place when they needed it....someone he has trusted since the day he met her....who was always there for him.

Xas....the time has come, he thought.

Nick Seafortfrom Xzalian:

Zeph sat against the wall of the Skara Brae bank. He sat there for hours apon hours, thinking, thinking about what it was he was fighting against. For quite some time now he had spoke against corruption and what was wrong with the government of Britannia. In the past he had even raised arms against it, now though he wanted to end it peacefully. As he reveiwed his actions over the past week or so he realized that it was of no use anymore...

When he attempted to speak to supporters of the High Council about the faults, he was simply ignored or turned aside. Even as he spoke up for a child trampled by a supporter of the Council, he was set aside, ignored like a meaningless speck of dust. Though he continued to raise his voice, and gain the support of others he was again ignored. When he attempted to warn them that if they did not improve a true revolution would arise, he was again treated like his words meant nothing...

It was apparant to him now, all his work, all his attempts were all in vain. There was no longer any reason to try to talk sense in to them, because it all landed on deaf ears. It was simple now, he no longer had any reason to remain with the Liberation movement. To him the bloodless rebellion was over. Zeph stood up and walked off into the near by forest saying to himself "Outcasts... Outlaws... and Outsiders..."

Nick SeafortFrom Trinsic:

The Trinsic Town Council is proud to announce the First Annual Turkey Hunt on Nov 22nd at 7pm central. Teams of two pilgrims each shall go out into the city and try to find the three Turkeys hidden somewhere in the city. The only way you will be able to find these cleaver birds will be to step on them. So if you think you know the best hidy holes in Trinsic, grab a partner and come out and try winning enough to pay the Trinsic Mayor Tyrone to cook Thanksgiving dinner for you. The Hunt shall start in the Trinsic Park with S&D and other guilds providing a feast to keep the pilgrims Spirits high as they hunt.

Matters of Censure

Nick Seafortfrom Nero:

Ash steped out of the Moongate into Moonglow, night had fallen as he cast a Night Sight spell. He walked into the town, the cold night's air nipping at his half pointed ears. When he heard Ed had placed the Warrant out on Cornelius he desided it would be better for someone Cornelius knows to bring him in. He did a look around, he wasn't in the main city. Ash looked around more on a road north of town Ash saw Cornelius...

After a fast "Hello Ash, guarding Moonglow? Keep up the good work." Cornelius moved on. Ash sat there on his Bettle after a blink he started riding after Cornelius. After a small ride he found him going inside the library, Ash dismounted his Bettle and went inside.

"Cornelius! It is good to see ye my friend!" Ash wanted to smack himself for saying that, he said to himself in his mind "I'm here to arrest him, not see if I can have a cup of tea.." Cornelius
looked at Ash with a small grin "What brings ye here Ash? Looking to check something out?" Ash knew the next part would be hard, "Nay... Cornelius, Edguardo has placed a warrant out for your arrest..."

Cornelius grin went away as he went pale. "What? On what grounds?" Ash looked "I do not know, I have my orders..." Cornelius had the look of dread on his face, as Ash spoke. "Cornelius, I am placing ye under arrest, I believe ye know your rights?" Cornelius gave a small nod, as Ash put the shackles on. Outside Ash got onto his Bettle, and looked at Cornelius horse and spoke "We are going to the Trinsic jails, ye can take your horse with ye, there is a stable there." Cornelius looked at the horse, only saying "Your free..." Ash looked on as he opened the gate and said to himself "Aye one of you are...."

Meanwhile... in Trinsic.

The warrant was issued late at night... High Justicar EdGuardo had finally decided the time for Cornelius, the High Council representative of Skara Brae, to face the charges being made against him by the Britannian Armed Forces had come. As General Nero rode from smuggler's gate to the Trinsic jail he took notice the streets were particularilly quiet that evening... no doubt there would be talk the following morning about the jail's most recent arrival.

Entering the jail, three familiar voices echoed through the hallways. Nero could tell it was Ash, who had been sent to arrest the councilor, Cornelius himself, and the interim Chancellor Ra'Dian Fl'Gith. With a low whisper, Nero dispelled the etherial mount which had carried him along the way, then greeted Ash and Ra'Dian outside the cell where Cornelius was now being held. It was when he entered the cell that things began to get strange.

Cornelius asked for comfortable clothing - a reasonable request given that wearing chain armor all day can get rather uncomfortable, but also asked for the supplies for growing a cactus plant. Not wanting to give the prisoner anything that may be sharp and be usable as a weapon or to pick the locks of the cell, the request was refused despite much insistance by the councilor's part. Instead he would be provided with reading material of a benign nature. As the conversation progressed, the councilor grew moreand more frustrated with Nero, sometimes defiant, at once instance preferring to swallow a ring of teleportation rather than turning it over. After being given an opportunity to speak to Ra'Dian Fl'Gith, Cornelius became a bit more agreeable and regurgetated the ring he had swallowed, though not before Nero would make jest of his behaviour, asking if he planned to keep eating the ring again every time it "re-appeared".

In the end, Cornelius turned over the items asked of him despite his objections, and demanded he be left alone, especially wishing to have no more conversation with General Nero, who at this point he had gotten so frustrated with to the point of almost becoming hostile. And so, Ash, Ra'Dian and Nero left Cornelius to sit in his cell and ponder his future. The High Justicar would announce a court date soon, and the councilor's fate would be decided once and for all.

Aryn Orthnin for Governor
Submitted Monday, November 4, 2002 - 4:56:45 PM by Nick Seafort

Nick SeafortFrom Aryn:

Greetings citizens of Trinsic,

I have been ruminating over the past few days, seeing how things so far have turned out. I've come to a decision, that, to better help the citizens of Trinsic, and to bring Trinsic back to where it was as people remember. A true beacon of Strength, and for the city to be remembered as a City of Paladins, not of drow, not of mercenary thugs either. Trinsic needs a strong leader, and I know I am that leader to help the downtrodden, the fearful, the good citizens of Trinsic reclaim what is theirs.

I hereby enter this race for Governor on the platform of:

I. The strengthening of the Trinsic Town Militia, under the leadership of not just Trinsic citizens such as Gurney Halleck, because, my friends, Trinsic cannot be defended by an Army of One, we must all come together, steel, honor, and unity.

II. Working with the Trinsic Town Council within Trinsic to bring commerce and activity within the walls, promoting events and gatherings of all kinds.

III. The overall creation of a solid, controlled government and council, elected by the people, for the people, and made up OF the people. The creation of said administration to work along the same lines as the proposed guidelines of the charter laid down by Duke Gurney Halleck.

I hold experience with Trinsic as a citizen, as a member of the Royal Knights of Britannia, the stationing of the Fortress of Redemption within Trinsics territory as well. I have been a leader within said guild for just over two years, and I believe I can help Trinsic become strong, and be a place where everyone can live happily, and peacefully.

I have fought alongside the Highland Guard, the Order of the Silver Serpent, and have shed blood to ensure the well-being and safety of all in the lands of Sosaria.

Thank you for your time.

ATALAN BLOODFYRE SUMMONING - Trinsic

Syrisi MaldictaFrom the Atalan...

The Last Order of the Atalan will be hosting its very first Bloodfyre Summoning at our Shrine in Trinsic this midweek. All those who have felt the "burning of blood" when near an Atalan (and we speak not of rage or contempt you may hold) should attend this ceremony. It is designed to call out to all our Atalan brethern still in hiding and under the oppression of the humans who dominate the local governments of Sosaria "in the name of the Crown."

We go to see that this oppression is put to an end. Humans have tried to curtail our movements and dictate border policies to us and we will continue to resist their attempts to do so. They seek to expel that which they do not understand, and given the growing numbers...their fears are growing.

If you feel your Atalan blood calling to you, attend the Bloodfyre Summoning.

Lord Jenner withdraws from Trinsic elections

Syrisi MaldictaFrom Lord Jenner...

Since it is my belief that the Player Run townships in the shadows of the Cities of Britannia are those cities lifeblood. Honor dictates that I must not give any event that denies them participation, any creditability that comes with having my name attached to that event. {It is like telling the people that live in Chinatown and Japantown in SF that they can not vote for the SF mayor, because they have community pride} So I am withdrawing my candidacy for governor of Trinsic. I hope one day the RP community of Great Lakes learns that role playing is not about the individual, it is about improving the game for all.

The Offering, Part 4

Syrisi MaldictaFrom Bregan D'Aerth...

The warriors rode hard through the forest outside Minoc. "Put an arrow in her leg, Raph!" Skaretaius yelled. "Not her skull, I have a use for this one!" Raph chuckled, drawing back on his bow and firing an arrow into the thigh of Skar's soon-to-be servant."The group howled in laughter as the female vampire shrieked in pain and fell to the ground clutching her leg in both hands. Malavika slid down from her horse, carrying a rope "Silence immortal one, before we decide to see just how immortal you are." There was another cry of pain as Malavika grasped the arrow and yanked it from the new slave's thigh, then bound her wrists and dragged her to Skar's horse, handing him the rope. "There you are, brother. Enjoy!"

"Maybe I could get one for Mistina," Raph told the others. "Ohhh, but that would be too cruel to turn one of these over to her." The group burst into laughter again as they set off to find another, dragging the vampire with the firey red hair behind them.

It did not take the rowdy trio long to find their next target.........oh, and she was perfect. She was once one of them, long ago. She was trusted, but now she was lothed, and lothed by no one more than Mistina. "How perfect is this, Brother and Sister?" Raph asked as he notched another arrow in his bow. "Let's see how well that spear helps you against my little wooden arrow." The arrow sliced through the betrayer's side, flying perfectly between the space where her leggings and her chest armor met. Grabbing her side, she spun around and cast a spell in Raph's direction that reflected from his armor and struck her fully, knocking her to the ground. "NO!!" she screamed. The trio sat atop their mounts and laughed. Raph dis-mounted his steed and grabbed the betrayer by the wrist, pulling her to her feet. But the fight was not out of her yet. She pulled her dagger from behind her as he lifted her up and sliced at his wrist.

Reflex made him let go of her arm, but with his other hand he grabbed her waist, firmly digging his fingers into the still-fresh wound, causing her to collapse screaming. Skar had dismounted and rushed to help Raph with the fiery wench and quickly bound her wrists, pulling her to her feet while Raph bandaged his wrist. "You think you feel pain now rivvel?" Skar said as he tied the other end of the rope that held her to Raph' saddle "Wait until my Brother presents you to Mistina. I have a feeling she will give you a newfound respect for the word pain." With that the three laughed and headed back to the Dark Tower.
