Nick SeafortFrom Elayne:

Greetings, friends.

As you all know, the Chaos Army has been revived and is attacking our cities.

Magincia has already fallen, and Cove and Moonglow are under attack.

All citizens of Moonglow, whether mage, warrior, or crafter, are asked to join the Council of Moonglow in the defense of Verity Isle!

Training and basic equipment will be provided for all those in need. Crafters will be paid a bonus for supplying goods required by the war effort, particularly logs. Lumberjacks, we need you!

Message from the Grand Marshall
Submitted Saturday, June 26, 2004 - 5:50:49 PM by Nick Seafort

Nick SeafortNoble friends, citizens, warriors and mages of Britannia,

A dark shadow has descended on our fair realm. No longer can we stand idly by and allow this mounting threat to plague our fair towns and threaten the lives of the people of Britannia. As you are most likely aware an invasion spawned from the depths of a dark dungeon spills forth in the City of Humility, Magincia. The invasion of a crown city is an injustice we cannot allow to continue.

I Am Ren a Conjurer, Grand Marshall of Virtue, and commanding officer of the Britannian Armed Forces. I lead the Britannian Armed Forces, commonly known as the BAF, and derive my authority from the High Council of Britannia. The combined arms of the Yew Militia, the Royal Knights of Redemption, and the Highland Guard have long worked together to defend the realm from threats that imperiled her citizens. Now in this dark hour, with the Highland Guard disbanded, we find that the dangers grow and our forces are spread thin across the realm. Now more than ever, the time to stand for the virtues, and what you know in your hearts to be just and true is upon us.

Noble warriors and mages of Britannia I pray you hear my words and are inspired to take up blade and spell and fight. Fight for your friends and families. Fight to defend the Virtues from those who would see them vanish from your hearts and minds. Fight for your own security. Fight for your country!

The war Academy of the Royal Knights of Redemption stands ready to accept and train you in the arts of war and to fill your mind and heart with knowledge of the 8 Virtues. The Yew Militia stands ready to embrace those who understand that they have a duty to defend the realm, and must lay down their plow and take up a blade. It matters not which branch of the BAF you choose but only that you stand with us in Britannia’s darkest hour!

Should you be the commander of a military force and seek those of like hearts and minds to stand shoulder to shoulder with on the field of battle seek us out! Should you be a warrior or sorcerer looking for brothers or sisters who you can count on when all others have fled the field, you have found a place to call home at last! Fight citizens of the realm, fight for Britannia while she still stands strong!

FCB Public Net Toss
Submitted Friday, June 25, 2004 - 11:33:54 AM by Nick Seafort

Nick SeafortFrom Gem:

Gem gathered her scurvy crew. “Them nets be clogging the hold; seems we need to hold another Net Toss.” Jingles, one of the newest recruits, shyly raised her hand. “Please Capt’n, what’s a net toss?”

First Mates Leif and Aridas grinned as Franklin came forward to explain: “Ah Lass, we teach them landlubbers how tough we fisherfolk must be as we brave the seas.”

Marlin added “We go to the docks at Buccaneers Den where no guards interfere with our sport, and we toss nets into the seas 2, 3, 4, or even 5 at a time. The crowd kills the kraken and sea serpents. And often the serps kill the crowd. We let the public keep the loot”

Flipper Flanigan added “A few folks who can raise the dead will wait at the end of the dock to assist the poor victims.”

Preston Cavassos smiled, “When will we gather?”

Gem laughed: “This Sunday under the Eastern skies at 7:00 p.m.; more folks who follow the Central skies, it will be 6:00 p.m. We ask that no one uses pets and that bards do not provoke, for it spoils the fun for the rest of us.”

The Ravager strikes!
Submitted Friday, June 18, 2004 - 2:48:44 PM by Nick Seafort

Nick SeafortFrom ElayneGL:

A shrouded figure appeared in Skara Brae today. After an exchange of insults with a Vampire, the figure threw off it's shroud, revealing itself as a daemon!

The daemon struck down one of the Bloodline Coven and spoke briefly to two Mondainites before disappearing.

This beast is known only as "The Ravager". More details are sought.

Contact the Highland Guard with information. A reward will be offered to any with valuable knowledge about this newly emerged daemonic entity.

Forums and the Herald

Nick SeafortGreetings!

The Forums have been streamlined, and some of the older non-used forums have been removed. The categories have been simplified, and everything is in general, less complicated now.

Some Herald services have been discontinued, namely "Herald by Mail" and the opinion poll.

We're still here to help the UO community, so send your news stories in, and we'll get them posted for all to see! We're still offering free board hosting for your group or guild as well.

Cheers and such!
